Communication Check-Up

When was the last time you had an open and honest conversation with someone?

How did it go the last time you were focused solely on their interests, their goals and their needs?

Who did you last help without their knowledge?

Why would it be beneficial to look at the ten people you spend the most time with and think about the last time you had a deep honest conversation with each of them?

What should you do if you're stuck?

Where should you start?

Would it be valuable to begin
with a communication check-up?

Good questions. Would you mind if I used them in my COMS classes? Always good to find ways to help students apply textbook material in practical ways.

Thanks Kneale, again you boil it down to the essentials. Without strong communications, we don't have much.

Thanks for the kick in the ass. I needed that!!

I'm sure you've heard this one before but we're in the communications business and we do a TERRIBLE job communicating with each other. In this day of gadgets and tools, we tend to forget that people are behind everything we do - we often forget ourselves in that equasion too.

Christina, wow I'm honored, thanks! Please let me know how it goes. km

Thanks for the RT Stacy! km

That's it, that's all Kevin. I was having a "converstation" about this with a client over the weekend which influenced the post.

Cheers km

We all need it, Yvonne! km

Brianne, yup I say it often and even after all these years in the "communications" industry I need to remind myself that it constantly needs improving. Make that - every single day! km
